# Long-distance coach Hamburg – Berlin (Flixbus)

The long-distance coach connection Hamburg – Berlin is one of the busiest German coach trunk routes and is operated by Flixbus in around three to four hours.

## Overview

The Hamburg – Berlin route (approx. 290 km) is one of the most important German long-distance coach connections and links the two largest cities of northern and eastern Germany. The main operator is Flixbus; the journey time is around 3 to 4 hours depending on the connection, partly with intermediate stops in the Ludwigslust-Parchim area or at additional Berlin stops such as Berlin Südkreuz. The connection is an inexpensive alternative to the train on one of Germany's most frequented routes.

## Operator

The main operator is [Flixbus (Flix SE)](/en/organizations/flixbus.html).

## Major stops

## Timetable and fares

The roughly 255-kilometre route is served daily by around 18 to more than 25 Flixbus connections in both directions; the fastest journey takes around 2 hours 45 minutes, typically about 3 to 4 hours. Tickets are dynamically priced and, when booked early, are available from around €11 (as of 2026, subject to change). The lines mostly run directly between the Hamburg central bus station (ZOB) and the Berlin ZOB; other stops include, among others, Berlin Südkreuz and Berlin Alt-Tegel (Karolinenstraße), and night bus services are also offered at night.
