# Paris Metro Line 12

Paris Metro Line 12 connects Front Populaire and Mairie d'Issy, running in a northwest-southeast direction, passing through Montmartre and Saint-Germain-des-Prés.

## Overview

Line 12 was opened in 1910 by the Nord-Sud company between Porte de Versailles and Porte de la Chapelle, and in 2012 it was extended north to Front Populaire. Abbesses station is very deep underground and serves as the gateway to the Montmartre heights.
