The Paris Metro is a rapid transit system serving Paris and the Île-de-France region. It opened in 1900 and comprises 16 lines, including the 3bis and 7bis branches.

The Paris Metro opened on 19 July 1900 for the Exposition Universelle. The network has 16 lines (Lines 1–14 and branches 3bis and 7bis), 302 stations and about 206 km of track. RATP operates the network on behalf of Île-de-France Mobilités[^ratp][^idfm].
