U7 (Munich U-Bahn) URL: https://knowledge.ivjn.us/en/concepts/ubahn-muenchen-u7.html The U7 is a peak-hour reinforcement line of the Munich U-Bahn established in 2011, which runs on weekdays during peak hours; its regular route comprises 19 stations from Olympia-Einkaufszentrum to Neuperlach Zentrum; currently (since October 2023) it is operated shortened between Olympia-Einkaufszentrum and Sendlinger Tor due to a shortage of vehicles. ## Overview The U7 is a peak-hour reinforcement line of the Munich U-Bahn. It was introduced with the timetable change on 12 December 2011 and replaced the previous reinforcement services of the U1 between Westfriedhof and Sendlinger Tor. The line runs on weekdays during peak hours (not on Friday afternoons and not during school holidays) on its regular route from Olympia-Einkaufszentrum to Neuperlach Zentrum, serving 19 stations on two trunk lines. For its operation, mostly four-car short trains of classes A and B are used. The U7 exclusively uses the routes of other lines: from Olympia-Einkaufszentrum to Kolumbusplatz it runs parallel to the U1 (Stammstrecke 2), between Hauptbahnhof and Innsbrucker Ring parallel to the U2, and from the Innsbrucker Ring parallel to the U5 up to Neuperlach Zentrum. ## Operating hours The U7 runs on weekdays during peak hours. Since October 2023, as a result of the vehicle shortage at MVG, it has been operated shortened only between Olympia-Einkaufszentrum and Sendlinger Tor; the through service to Neuperlach Zentrum is envisaged again afterwards. ## Operator The operator is the [Munich Transport Company (MVG)](https://knowledge.ivjn.us/en/organizations/mvg.html), a subsidiary of Stadtwerke München (SWM). ## History The U7 was introduced with the timetable change on 12 December 2011 as a pure reinforcement line without any new route construction. It only runs during peak hours, using the tracks of the U1 (Olympia-Einkaufszentrum to Kolumbusplatz), the U2 (Hauptbahnhof to Innsbrucker Ring) and the U5 (Innsbrucker Ring to Neuperlach Zentrum). Since 15 December 2013 it has run in the afternoons to Neuperlach Zentrum; a temporary extension to Olympia-Einkaufszentrum carried out in 2017 during construction works on the U3 subsequently remained in place permanently. ## Stations Stations of the regular route in operating direction (towards Neuperlach Zentrum): - Olympia-Einkaufszentrum - Georg-Brauchle-Ring - Westfriedhof - Gern - Rotkreuzplatz - Maillingerstraße - Stiglmaierplatz - Hauptbahnhof - Sendlinger Tor - Fraunhoferstraße - Kolumbusplatz - Silberhornstraße - Untersbergstraße - Giesing - Karl-Preis-Platz - Innsbrucker Ring - Michaelibad - Quiddestraße - Neuperlach Zentrum Updated: 2026-10-28 Tags: - 地铁 https://knowledge.ivjn.us/en/tags/metro.html Mentioned in: - Munich Hauptbahnhof https://knowledge.ivjn.us/en/places/de-muenchen-hbf.html Sources: - U-Bahn-Linie U7 (München) — Wikipedia https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/U-Bahn-Linie_U7_(M%C3%BCnchen) Abschnitte Verlauf und Betriebszeiten; abgerufen 2026-10-28 - MVG – Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft, Fahrplaninformationen Linie U7 https://www.mvg.de/ Aktuelle Fahrplanauskunft; abgerufen 2026-10-28
