On Taishi Ci's orders Ge Ding slips into Hefei, where Taishi Ci has him set fire to the stables so that an attack from inside and outside can take the city and kill Zhang Liao. Zhang Liao keeps calm, sees through the plan, and Li Dian captures Ge Ding and his brother. After learning the facts Zhang Liao has Ge Ding beheaded in front of his horse. Zhang Liao then sets a trap for Taishi Ci, who is badly wounded and dies after returning to camp.
