<body>Queen Consort Jiang is the queen of King Zhou of Shang in the Song-era tale King Wu&#39;s Attack on Zhou and in the Ming novel Investiture of the Gods. Both Wikidata and the Chinese Wikipedia article are titled Queen Consort Jiang, and Wikidata also lists forms such as Queen Jiang and Empress Jiang. There is only a surname and the title of queen, and no personal name, so the heading stays Queen Consort Jiang. She is set in the Shang dynasty and recorded as female.[^wikidata][^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Identity&#xA;&#xA;The Chinese Wikipedia article says she is the first queen King Zhou invested, the daughter of Jiang Huanchu, Lord of the Eastern Marches, and the mother of his two sons Yin Jiao and Yin Hong, and the mortal enemy of Daji. She was exceptionally beautiful. When Daji was first chosen for the palace and honored as noble consort, she did not know Lady Jiang, and only after a few months did they become acquainted. Two years later Lady Jiang was made queen, which aroused Daji&#39;s jealousy, and Daji set a series of plots against her.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Demotion and restoration&#xA;&#xA;The article says that after she was framed, King Zhou demoted her to consort and put her in the cold palace. Daji rose in favor while Lady Jiang stayed alone in the cold palace. Her sons Yin Jiao and Yin Hong told the king everything, but he believed Daji&#39;s slanders and, instead of heeding his sons, had both crown princes beaten with staves. Two months later Lady Yin, wife of Li Jing, praised Lady Jiang&#39;s virtues before the king, who then released her, and that night he made her queen again.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Cause of death&#xA;&#xA;The article writes that once, tipsy with wine, Daji went out in disguise with the king, and on returning two hours later the noble consort Su had the queen beaten thirty strokes and put into the cold palace again. To prove she had done nothing wrong, the queen sent a message by pigeon to Lady Yin. Lady Yin came and found the queen gouging out her own eyes. She tried to stop her, but the queen was already dead. After that the king made Daji queen. The queen&#39;s two sons, Yin Jiao and Yin Hong, disliked Daji, and Daji slandered them to the king and had them killed. The article adds that after her death the queen was invested as the Taiyin star among the regular gods of the stars.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## On screen&#xA;&#xA;The article lists a number of actresses who played Queen Jiang or Empress Jiang in various screen adaptations, for example Lü Shan in the TVB series Fengshen Bang and Yuan Quan in the film Creation of the Gods I.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Basic facts&#xA;&#xA;- Description: first queen of King Zhou of Shang in Investiture of the Gods[^wikidata]&#xA;- Setting recorded on this entry: the Shang dynasty[^wikidata]&#xA;- Appears in: [[work_cn_q1336310|Investiture of the Gods]][^zhwiki]</body>
