"body": "Zhu Changluo was a Ming emperor. His temple name was Guangzong and his era name was Taichang. This entry records his birth in 1582 and his death on 26 September 1620.[^wikidata] The simplified Chinese Wikidata alias is Zhu Changluo, distinct from the temple name Guangzong. The passage read in juan 21 of the Ming History calls him the heir apparent and, after accession, Guangzong. It does not spell out a taboo personal name.[^zhengshi][^wikidata]\n\n## Accession\n\nThe Ming History says the Wanli Emperor died in the seventh month of his forty-eighth year. On the dingyou day the heir, following the testament, issued a million taels to reward the frontier, abolished the mining and commercial taxes, and restored officials who had been punished for remonstrance. On the jihai day another million taels were issued for the frontier. On the first day of the eighth month, bingwu, he took the throne, proclaimed an amnesty, named the next year the first of Taichang, and remitted taxes in provinces hit by disaster. Liaodong suffered a great drought. On the gengshen day the Yellow River at Lanzhou ran clear for three days. In that month Shi Jikai, Shen Que, He Zongyan, Liu Yijing, Han Kuang and Zhu Guozuo entered the grand secretariat, and Ye Xianggao was summoned.[^zhengshi]\n\n## Death\n\nOn the bingyin day the emperor was ill. On the wuchen day he received the Duke of Yingguo, Zhang Weixian, Grand Secretary Fang Congzhe and eleven others at the Qianqing Palace, and had his eldest son come out to see them. On the jiaxu day he was dying and again summoned Fang Congzhe and the others to receive his last charge. That same day Li Kezhuo of the Court of State Ceremonial presented a red pill. He died in the Qianqing Palace on the first day of the ninth month, yihai, after one month on the throne, at the age of thirty-nine. After the Tianqi Emperor succeeded, the court decided that the time from the eighth month of the forty-eighth year of Wanli would be called the first year of Taichang. In the tenth month he received his posthumous title and the temple name Guangzong, and was buried at the Qingling.[^zhengshi]\n\nThe historian's comment at the end of the juan says Guangzong's virtue had long been known and the realm had looked to him, but he reigned only a month, his measures were never carried out, and the struggles over the three cases made the factional disaster worse.[^zhengshi]\n\n## Basic facts\n\n- Name: Zhu Changluo[^wikidata]\n- Temple name: Guangzong[^zhengshi]\n- Era name: Taichang[^zhengshi]\n- Place in the dynasty: fourteenth Ming emperor[^wikidata]\n- Realm: Ming[^wikidata]\n- Birthplace: [[place_beijing|Beijing]][^wikidata]",
