## Official history

> 王朗字景興，東海郡人也。以通經，拜郎中，除菑丘長。師太尉楊賜，賜薨，棄官行服。舉孝廉，辟公府，不應。徐州刺史陶謙察朗茂才。時漢帝在長安，關東兵起，朗爲謙治中，與別駕趙昱等說謙曰：「春秋之義，求諸侯莫如勤王。今天子越在西京，宜遣使奉承王命。」謙乃遣昱奉章至長安。天子嘉其意，拜謙安東將軍。以昱爲廣陵太守，朗會稽太守。
