# Bremen Hauptbahnhof

The station building of Bremen Hauptbahnhof, built 1885–1889, characterises the most important railway hub of north-west Germany with nine platform tracks and around 140,000 travellers daily.

## Overview

The first station on this site was opened in 1847; today's neo-Renaissance station building to plans by Hubert Stier was built in 1885–1889. The station is the centre of rail transport in north-west Germany and, with around 140,000 travellers daily, Deutsche Bahn's eleventh-busiest long-distance station (Preisklasse 2).

## Station layout

The through station has nine platform tracks; on average 80 long-distance and 450 local trains operate here daily. Trams and buses of the BSAG and other operators serve the forecourt.
