<body>Tianhuang Dadi is a deity of ancient Chinese star worship and of Daoism. Wikidata classes him as a deity and lists the other names Gouchen Emperor and Tianhuang Emperor, and the Chinese Wikipedia article is titled Tianhuang Dadi. It is a divine title, not a personal name, so the heading stays the original title.[^wikidata][^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## In Daoism&#xA;&#xA;The Chinese Wikipedia article says that Tianhuang Dadi, in full the Supreme Emperor of the Curved Array&#39;s Upper Palace, also called the Gouchen Emperor, is the lord of the Tianhuang star, one of the Four Sovereigns of Daoism, the eldest son of Doumu Yuanjun and the elder brother of the Ziwei Emperor of the north pole. He assists the Jade Emperor in governing the three powers of heaven, earth and humanity, presides over the affairs of war on earth, including all arms and fighting, and also over the change of regimes and the choosing of worthy rulers. In Chinese astrology, the Curved Array star to which he belongs, like the Ziwei star, stands for the fortunes of earthly emperors. Like the Ziwei Emperor, he comes from the ancient worship of the stars. The article quotes the Great Rite of the Numinous Treasure of Highest Clarity, which says that to the left of the pole star&#39;s throne are four stars that curve together like a hook and are called the Curved Array, and that the large star centered below them is Tianhuang Dadi. It also says that in Taiwan he has no temples of his own, and is usually enshrined as a companion deity of Doumu Yuanjun or together with the other Four or Six Sovereigns.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Old texts and the Confucian view&#xA;&#xA;The article quotes the Treatise on Astronomy in the Book of Jin, which says that the six stars of the Curved Array are all in the Ziwei Palace, that the star in its mouth is called Tianhuang Dadi, and that his divine name is Yaopobao, who rules the host of spirits and holds the chart of the myriad gods. It also notes that on the Rites&#39; sentence about sacrificing to the August Heaven, Zheng Xuan took Tianhuang Dadi to be Yaopobao, and that the Old Book of Tang says the August Heaven worshipped at the round mound was the polar star Yaopobao.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## The stars&#xA;&#xA;The article says that the Curved Array is an ancient Chinese star group near the north celestial pole made up of six stars, four of which lie in Ursa Minor and two in Cepheus in Western astronomy. Gouchen One is Alpha Ursae Minoris, the pole star. The six stars are bent like a hook and were once regarded as the Yellow Emperor&#39;s rear palace and the heavenly emperor&#39;s principal consort.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Basic facts&#xA;&#xA;- Category: deity, associated with the Curved Array star group[^wikidata]&#xA;- Other names: Gouchen Emperor, Tianhuang (deity)[^wikidata]&#xA;- Work linked on this entry: [[work_cn_q70784|Journey to the West]]</body>

<body>King Duosi is a fictional character in Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Wikidata&#39;s Chinese label and the Chinese Wikipedia article are both 朵思大王, where 大王 (king) is a title and no single personal name is recorded, so the heading stays as it is. Wikidata describes him as an ally of Meng Huo, gives the dynasty of the work&#39;s setting as Shu Han, and records his death in 225.[^wikidata][^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Identity&#xA;&#xA;Chinese Wikipedia says he is a southern tribesman in the novel, lord of the Tulong cave, and the wisest man of the south.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## In the novel&#xA;&#xA;According to Chinese Wikipedia&#39;s summary, after Zhuge Liang had captured Meng Huo four times, Meng Huo&#39;s brother Meng You introduced King Duosi to him. King Duosi used the terrain near the Tulong cave to block the Shu army and fought it with the four-eyed poisoned springs. But he got drunk in his camp together with Meng Huo and his brother, and was taken to the enemy camp by Yang Feng, who had gone over to Shu, and was released there. Then, on Meng Huo&#39;s orders, he continued to hold Sanjiang city against Zhuge Liang&#39;s invasion, defeated the Shu troops with poisoned arrows, and was later sent by Meng Huo to guard the city. Zhuge Liang raised his men&#39;s spirits by a stratagem, piled up an earthen wall and broke the city, and King Duosi was trampled to death by his own war elephant.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Basic facts&#xA;&#xA;- Description: fictional character in Romance of the Three Kingdoms, ally of Meng Huo[^wikidata]&#xA;- Dynasty or state of the work&#39;s setting: Shu Han[^wikidata]&#xA;- Death: 225 (within the work)[^wikidata]&#xA;- Appears in: [[work_cn_q70806|Romance of the Three Kingdoms]]</body>

<body>The Demon King of Confusion is a monster in Journey to the West. Wikidata gives his Chinese label as Hunshi Mowang, with the English name Demon King of Confusion and the further alias Sovereign Devil of Confusion, and describes him as a character of that novel. This is the title the book gives the monster, and the cited sources give no personal name, so the title stays as it is.[^wikidata][^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## In Journey to the West&#xA;&#xA;The Chinese Wikipedia article says he is the first monster Sun Wukong defeats. He wields a great sword and can ride the clouds. He is tall, carries the sword, and lives in the Shuizang cave of Mount Kanyuan. While Sun Wukong has left the Water Curtain Cave to learn from the Patriarch Subhuti, the demon king forces the monkeys of Flower-Fruit Mountain to be his slaves and takes some young monkeys and their belongings. Sun Wukong, just back from his studies and about to take back Flower-Fruit Mountain, kills him.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## In other works&#xA;&#xA;The article also says that in the Sanbao taijian xiyang ji he fights the Mysterious Lady of the Nine Heavens for seven days and nights on Mount Mojie without either winning, and is finally sealed in a basket by her. The name Demon King of Confusion is today also used of a person of great power who defies all rules and gives others a headache.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Basic facts&#xA;&#xA;- Identity: character of Journey to the West, a monster[^wikidata][^zhwiki]&#xA;- Dwelling: the Shuizang cave of Mount Kanyuan[^zhwiki]&#xA;- Weapon: a great sword[^zhwiki]&#xA;- Appears in: [[work_cn_q70784|Journey to the West]][^wikidata]</body>

<body>The Great Sage, Heaven&#39;s Equal is a deity of Chinese folk religion and also a title borne by characters in literature. Wikidata describes it as a deity of Chinese folk belief, and the Chinese Wikipedia article, titled 齊天大聖, says it belongs to the Great Sage cult and is a figure often found in literary works, of which Sun Wukong&#39;s is the most representative. It is a title and not a person&#39;s name, and the article records no single personal name for it, so the heading stays as it is.[^wikidata][^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Folk belief&#xA;&#xA;Chinese Wikipedia says that in Chinese folk religion the Great Sage, Heaven&#39;s Equal is one of the important deities, with believers on both sides of the strait and in Hong Kong. The Ancestral Hall of the Great Sage, Heaven&#39;s Equal at the Grotto Palace of the Purple Bamboo Grove at Pingshan in Fuzhou is one of the most important sources of the cult in Fujian, and another is Shunchang, where there is the Baoshan Great Sage cult of the Heaven&#39;s Equal and the Heaven-Penetrating Great Sage, including a natural monkey-shaped boulder on Baoshan and a shrine and tomb of the two on the summit. Scholars think these were first built at the end of the Yuan or start of the Ming, earlier than Wu Cheng&#39;en&#39;s Journey to the West, and so suppose that the prototype of Sun Wukong may come from an original monkey-god cult of the Min-Yue region. Since Journey to the West made the Great Sage, Heaven&#39;s Equal a household name, it has been confused with other monkey-god cults, and many local monkey gods are now called by this general name, while some keep their original names, such as the Danxia Great Sage cult of Fuzhou. The article also mentions temples to the Great Sage, Heaven&#39;s Equal Sun Wukong, such as the Baikeng Yusheng Temple on Penghu in Taiwan and the Kowloon Great Sage Temple in Hong Kong.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## In literature&#xA;&#xA;The article lists a number of works. In the Yuan zaju play Erlang Locks the Great Sage, Heaven&#39;s Equal, he steals immortal peaches, elixir and a heavenly robe and is pursued by Erlang. In the Yuan zaju Journey to the West he is Sun Wukong&#39;s elder brother. In the Yuan zaju The Eight Immortals Cross the Sea, the Eight Immortals and the five Great Sages, among them the Great Sage, Heaven&#39;s Equal, are invited to a peony banquet and help defeat the Dragon Kings, and the Ming novel Journey to the East also has him assist the Eight Immortals against the Dragon Kings. In the Ming tale The Loss of Inspector Chen Xin&#39;s Wife at Meiling, the villain, the white ape spirit Lord Shenyang, bears the title and lives at Meiling, with two brothers named Heaven-Penetrating Great Sage and Heaven-Filling Great Sage and a sister, the Holy Mother of Sizhou. He kidnaps many women and is finally sent by the Zixiang Perfected Lord&#39;s celestial generals to the heavenly prison. In the Ming novel Journey to the West, Sun Wukong is first recruited by heaven and made keeper of the horses, but he is angered by the small post and the insult and leaves heaven, then, on the advice of the Unicorn Demon King, calls himself the Great Sage, Heaven&#39;s Equal and swears brotherhood with six other demons who each take a Great Sage title. When heaven recruits him a second time, the Jade Emperor recognizes the title he gave himself. In the Qing short story The Great Sage, Heaven&#39;s Equal in Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio, Xu Sheng, trading in Fujian, speaks rudely of the cult, is punished with sickness and his brother&#39;s sudden death, and only then believes it.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Basic facts&#xA;&#xA;- Description: deity of Chinese folk belief and title of literary characters[^wikidata][^zhwiki]&#xA;- Other names: Qitian Dasheng Sun Wukong, Great Sage Sun[^wikidata]&#xA;- Appears in: [[work_cn_q70784|Journey to the West]]</body>

<body>Jin Yuanyang is a character in Dream of the Red Chamber. The Chinese Wikipedia article says her surname is Jin and her given name Yuanyang. Wikidata labels her Yuanyang, lists the further form Jin Yuanyang, and gives the English alias Jin Yuanyang, so the title uses the full name with the surname.[^wikidata][^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Position and family&#xA;&#xA;She is a household-born slave of the Jia family, one of the senior maids who serve the Lady Dowager, and the Lady Dowager&#39;s trusted right hand. Wikidata describes her as the Lady Dowager&#39;s maid. The Chinese Wikipedia article describes her with a slender waist, sloping shoulders, an oval face, glossy black hair, a high nose, and a few light freckles on her cheeks. Her parents look after the Jia house in Nanjing, her brother Jin Wenxiang is the purchasing agent of the Lady Dowager&#39;s rooms, and her sister-in-law heads the laundry there.[^zhwiki][^wikidata]&#xA;&#xA;## Refusing Jia She&#xA;&#xA;In the novel, Jia She wants to take Yuanyang as a concubine, and she flatly refuses. He insists and sends Lady Xing and Yuanyang&#39;s brother and sister-in-law to persuade and press her. She will not give way and swears that, not to speak of Baoyu, even Precious Gold, Precious Heavenly King or Precious Emperor, she will simply never marry. In chapter 46 she shows the Lady Dowager her resolve to die, saying that even if the Lady Dowager herself forced her, she would cut her throat with a knife before she obeyed. The Lady Dowager then steps in and frees her from Jia She&#39;s pursuit. Jia She says angrily that she must find him old and be in love with the young masters, and that he will submit only if she dies or never marries.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Her end and the verses&#xA;&#xA;In the last forty chapters written by Gao E, after the Lady Dowager dies Yuanyang hangs herself in despair, and before dying her spirit meets the departed spirit of Qin Keqing of the twelve beauties of Jinling. The Chinese Wikipedia article also says that although she is an important female figure of the novel, she has no verse in the registers, like Ping&#39;er.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Basic facts&#xA;&#xA;- Name: Jin Yuanyang, with the surname Jin and given name Yuanyang[^zhwiki][^wikidata]&#xA;- Role: character of Dream of the Red Chamber, senior maid of the Lady Dowager[^wikidata][^zhwiki]&#xA;- Family: brother Jin Wenxiang; sister-in-law in charge of laundry in the Lady Dowager&#39;s rooms[^zhwiki]&#xA;- Setting recorded on this entry: the dynasty of the novel[^wikidata]&#xA;- Appears in: [[work_cn_q8265|Dream of the Red Chamber]][^wikidata]</body>

<body>Yin Qiao was a general of the late Sui and early Tang whose courtesy name was Kaishan. He went by the courtesy name, and so has long been called Yin Kaishan. The New Book of Tang says that Yin Kaishan, whose given name was Qiao, went by his courtesy name, and the Chinese Wikipedia article likewise says his given name was Qiao and his courtesy name Kaishan. Wikidata labels him Yin Kaishan and lists the alternative names Yin Qiao in traditional and simplified characters, with the English alias Yin Qiao. Kaishan is a courtesy name, not the personal name, so the title uses the personal name.[^wikidata][^zhengshi][^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Family and early life&#xA;&#xA;The New Book of Tang says his family had long lived south of the Yangzi. His grandfather Yin Buhai served the Chen as minister of agriculture, and when the Chen fell the family was moved to Jingzhao and became people of Huxian. Kaishan read widely, wrote letters well, and served the Sui as magistrate of Dagu.[^zhengshi] The Chinese Wikipedia article adds that his grandfather had earlier served the Liang, was taken to Guanzhong when the Western Wei captured Jiangling, and went back south to serve the Chen, while his father Yin Sengshou stayed in Guanzhong and served the Sui as a palace librarian and as marshal to the Prince of Qin. In youth he was known for learning and conduct, served as magistrate of Dagu and then of Shiai, and had a name for good government.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## In the Tang campaigns&#xA;&#xA;After the founder rose, he was summoned to fill a post in the general&#39;s office and followed the attack on Xihe, then served as chief secretary to the commander of the Weibei route. The bands of robbers near the capital each held their ground and would not submit, and he was sent to pacify them, and they all yielded. With Liu Hongji he camped at the old city and defeated Wei Wensheng&#39;s troops, and was granted the title of Duke of Chenjun and promoted to aide in the chancellor&#39;s office.[^zhengshi]&#xA;&#xA;As vice minister of personnel he followed the Prince of Qin against Xue Ju. The prince fell seriously ill and left the army to Liu Wenjing with orders to avoid battle. Yin Kaishan was eager to win credit and urged Liu Wenjing to fight, and at Zhezhi they were routed. He was handed to the officials and should have been executed, but the court pardoned him and only struck him from the rolls. Soon he followed the defeat of Xue Rengao, regained his title, held the post of minister of war of the Shaanxi circuit secretariat, and was moved to minister of personnel. For his part in the campaign against Wang Shichong he was advanced to Duke of Yun.[^zhengshi]&#xA;&#xA;## Death and honors&#xA;&#xA;The New Book of Tang says that he fell ill and died on the road during the campaign against Liu Heita. The Prince of Qin wept bitterly, and an edict granted him the post of right vice-director of the Shaanxi grand secretariat and the posthumous name Jie. In the fourteenth year of Zhenguan he was placed with Li Shentong, Li Xiaogong and Liu Zhenghui in the sacrifices in the temple of the founder, and during Yonghui he was further granted the title of minister of works.[^zhengshi] The Chinese Wikipedia article records his death in 622, the fifth year of Wude, and says his name was entered in the Lingyan Pavilion in 643. It gives the year of the temple sacrifices as the fourth year of Zhenguan, which differs from the New Book of Tang.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Basic facts&#xA;&#xA;- Name: personal name Qiao; courtesy name Kaishan, by which he was known[^zhengshi][^zhwiki]&#xA;- Death: 622[^wikidata]&#xA;- Birthplace: [[place_cn_610118|Huyi District]][^wikidata]&#xA;- Realm: Sui and Tang[^wikidata]&#xA;- Title: Duke of Yun[^zhengshi]&#xA;- Portrayal: [[person_cn_q137948463|Yin Kaishan]] (a character in Journey to the West)</body>

<body>Kong Ji was a man of Lu in the early Warring States period and a leading representative of Confucianism. Chinese Wikipedia says his courtesy name was Zisi, while Wikidata&#39;s Chinese label is 孔伋 and it lists Zisi as another name. Zisi is only a courtesy name, so the heading now uses his personal name, and the English heading uses Wikidata&#39;s English alias Kong Ji.[^wikidata][^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Life&#xA;&#xA;Chinese Wikipedia says he was a grandson of Confucius and a son of Kong Li, studied under Zengzi, and served under Duke Mu of Lu. He died around 402 BCE at the age of eighty-two. Wikidata records his birth in 483 BCE and his death in 402 BCE and his state as Lu. This site&#39;s earlier structured data gives 482 to 401 BCE, a year different, and this entry does not force the two to agree but reports both as the sources give them.[^wikidata][^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Teaching and writings&#xA;&#xA;The Doctrine of the Mean, one of the Four Books, is traditionally said to be by him, but this is hard to confirm, and his own book Zisizi is lost. Mencius is said to have studied under his disciples or scholars of his school. In Xunzi&#39;s chapter Against the Twelve Masters, Zisi and Mencius are put in one group and their theory of the five conducts is criticized as perverse, obscure and unexplained. Later writers therefore pair the two as Si-Meng, and their school is called the Si-Meng school.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Honors and sacrifices&#xA;&#xA;The article records that in the Song dynasty Emperor Huizong made him Marquis of Yishui, that in the Yuan Emperor Wenzong made him Duke Shusheng of Yi, and that in the Ming Emperor Shizong made him Duke Shusheng. For this reason he is called the Transmitter Sage, alongside Yan Hui the Restored Sage, Zengzi the Ancestral Sage and Mencius the Second Sage. Because he is a direct ancestor of the Duke Yansheng, later dynasties did not appoint a separate sacrificial official for him, but the second son of the Duke Yansheng held the post, or, if the duke was an only son, the sacrifice was combined with his own.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Basic facts&#xA;&#xA;- Name: Kong Ji, courtesy name Zisi[^wikidata][^zhwiki]&#xA;- Description: Chinese Confucian, grandson of Confucius[^wikidata]&#xA;- State or dynasty: Lu[^wikidata]&#xA;- Work: [[work_cn_q519778|The Doctrine of the Mean]] (traditionally attributed)[^zhwiki]</body>

The Chinese Wikipedia article is also titled Yang Ren, so the Chinese title stays as his personal name.[^wikidata][^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## The fight at Yangping Pass&#xA;&#xA;Chinese Wikipedia says that in the twentieth year of Jian&#39;an Cao Cao attacked Zhang Lu and reached Yangping Pass in the seventh month of autumn. Zhang Lu secretly sent his brother Zhang Wei and Yang Ang to hold the pass. Cao Cao could not take it and feigned a retreat. Zhang Wei and the others took the withdrawal as a heavy blow to Cao Cao&#39;s army and relaxed their guard. Learning this, Cao Cao secretly sent his officers Xie Xiu and Gao Zuo to attack the pass at night, and they broke it. Zhang Lu fled to Bazhong, and Yang Ren was killed by Cao Cao&#39;s troops.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## In Romance of the Three Kingdoms&#xA;&#xA;The article adds that in the novel Yang Ren fights the Wei general Xiahou Yuan for more than thirty bouts without a result. Xiahou Yuan feigns defeat, Yang Ren chases him, and Xiahou Yuan kills him with a trailing-blade stroke. This is the novel&#39;s account and differs from the historical summary above.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Basic facts&#xA;&#xA;- Name: Yang Ren[^wikidata]&#xA;- Dates: 2nd century to the twentieth year of Jian&#39;an in Eastern Han (215)[^wikidata][^zhwiki]&#xA;- Realm: Eastern Han[^wikidata]&#xA;- Occupation recorded on this entry: military officer[^wikidata]&#xA;- Portrayal: [[person_cn_q124356184|Yang Ren]] (a character in Romance of the Three Kingdoms)</body>

<body>Misty is a fictional character of the Japanese Pokémon franchise. Her Japanese name is Kasumi, and her Chinese name is Xiaoxia (小霞). Wikidata and the Chinese Wikipedia article on 小霞 both describe this character, not a figure of Dream of the Red Chamber, and 小霞 is simply her usual Chinese rendering, so the title stays as it was.[^wikidata][^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Overview&#xA;&#xA;Chinese Wikipedia says Misty is a fictional character of the Pokémon anime and the female lead of its original series. Her dream is to become the greatest water-type Pokémon trainer in the world, so her Pokémon are mostly water types, among them Staryu, Psyduck and Corsola. The article notes that in Western countries her name was changed to Misty Williams. Wikidata records her as a Pokémon trainer and a gym leader, names Satoshi Tajiri as her creator, and lists several games in which she appears, including Pokémon Red and Green, Gold and Silver, FireRed and LeafGreen, HeartGold and SoulSilver, and Let&#39;s Go, Pikachu! and Let&#39;s Go, Eevee!. Its voice actor field lists Ayane Sakura and Rachael Lillis.[^wikidata][^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## In the anime&#xA;&#xA;The article describes her as the first female lead of the Pokémon anime, lively and somewhat tsundere, who calls herself a world-class beauty and is the youngest of the four beautiful sisters of Cerulean City. The three older sisters are Daisy, Violet and Lily. She has some feeling for Ash, but quarrels with him constantly on the road. She is sharp-tongued and soft-hearted. She likes water-type Pokémon and dislikes bug types, and she regards Gyarados as a natural enemy because as a child she once put her head into a Gyarados&#39;s mouth and nearly got swallowed. She is gentle with Togepi like a mother and very close to Pikachu.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Journey and gym&#xA;&#xA;According to the article, she first appears fishing by a stream in Viridian Forest, when her bicycle is borrowed by Ash, who is anxious about Pikachu&#39;s injury, and then electrified to ruin by Pikachu, so she travels with Ash. At the Cerulean Gym she admits she is the youngest of the four sisters and takes Ash&#39;s gym battle in place of her sisters, who did not want to fight, until Team Rocket interrupts. After the Silver Conference she is told that her sisters have gone travelling and want her to take over the gym, so she parts from Ash and Brock there. She is later invited to the Hoenn region because of Togepi, and in Sun and Moon she returns as a guest instructor, meets Ash again, and battles him at her gym.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Her Pokémon&#xA;&#xA;The Pokémon listed in the article include Goldeen, Staryu, Starmie and Horsea, her first ones. Psyduck first appears in episode 27 and was caught by accident. It cannot swim and unleashes psychic powers when its head aches. Togepi is the only non-water type she owns, and in the anime it evolves and leaves her. A Poliwag and its evolutions are also listed. The article adds that she later catches a Gyarados at a broadcasting station.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Basic facts&#xA;&#xA;- Form of address: Misty, Japanese Kasumi, Chinese 小霞[^wikidata][^zhwiki]&#xA;- Roles: Pokémon trainer, gym leader[^wikidata]&#xA;- Creator: Satoshi Tajiri (Wikidata creator field)[^wikidata]&#xA;- Universe: the Pokémon franchise[^wikidata]</body>

<body>The Sun Star Lord is the Daoist god of the sun. The name is a divine title and not a person&#39;s name: the Chinese Wikipedia article says his name is Yuyi, a god&#39;s name in Daoism, so there is no single verifiable personal name and the heading is left as it was. Wikidata records the Chinese label as Taiyang Xingjun and classes the item as a deity. This site files the entry under Journey to the West, but the Wikipedia article is about the Sun Star Lord of Daoism and folk religion.[^wikidata][^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Divine role and titles&#xA;&#xA;According to the Chinese Wikipedia article, the Sun Star Lord is named Yuyi, with a talisman character, and is the Daoist god of the sun, in charge of the sun. His full titles include the Sun Star Lord of Flaming Light of the Sun Palace and the Sun Emperor of the Sun Palace, and he is also called the Sun Emperor, the God of Great Brightness, Lord Sun, and the Sun Bodhisattva. The article says he also oversees the lords of the twenty-eight lunar mansions and the heavenly office that records stipends and lifespans, and inspects the merits and offenses of people and reports them to the Supreme Emperor, a record called the Register of the Sun Palace.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Origins and development of the cult&#xA;&#xA;The article says that because the sun is a vital source of light and warmth, many peoples worship it. In China the sacrifice to the sun god is said to date from the time of Yan Di Shennong, and the ritual of sacrificing to the sun appeared by the Qin and Han at the latest, for instance in the Book of Rites, which records sacrificing to the sun in the eastern suburb. People often blend the Sun Star Lord with the Buddhist Mahavairocana, Amitabha and Sunlight Bodhisattva, or take the sun god as a manifestation of those figures. In Investiture of the Gods, the Shang loyal minister Bi Gan is enfeoffed as the Sun Star among the three hundred and sixty-five true gods. The article says old accounts give the winter solstice or the nineteenth of the eleventh month as the Sun Emperor&#39;s birthday, and the first of the second month as the day he inspects good and evil among people, but most almanacs now give the nineteenth of the third lunar month. Lian Heng&#39;s History of Taiwan holds that this date is actually tied to secret worship of the Ming Chongzhen emperor, since on the nineteenth of the third month of the seventeenth year of Chongzhen (25 April 1644) Li Zicheng entered Yan, and the emperor hanged himself on Coal Hill.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Images and worship&#xA;&#xA;The article describes the images as normally human, with a red face and red beard, holding a token of the sun. Some images show a figure with loose hair, a long staff in one hand and a Qiankun ring in the other, standing barefoot on a small hill, said to allude to how the Chongzhen emperor looked when he hanged himself. In Taiwan, the article says, several temples hold rites on the nineteenth of the third month, and in Tainan people used to set out incense tables and cakes called nine pigs and sixteen sheep. Three temples in Kaohsiung also take turns in worshipping Lord Sun. The article also lists temples in Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore that honor the Sun Star Lord.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## The True Scripture of the Sun Star Lord&#xA;&#xA;The article says the True Scripture of the Sun Star Lord, also called the Sunlight Scripture, is a folk-religion text for worshipping the sun, of unknown authorship. According to elders in Shaoxing, Zhejiang, it was compiled by the third daughter of the Chongzhen emperor while living as a nun after the fall of the Ming, and some scholars think it may come from the Heaven and Earth Society, which sought to restore the Ming. Researchers point out that words in the scripture such as the repeated &#34;ming&#34; and &#34;Pearl Light Buddha&#34; hide a longing for the Ming, and Lin Hualing&#39;s study at the National University of Tainan holds that the scripture originally said the sun lord was born on the nineteenth of the eleventh month, and that elements of the Chongzhen emperor were added later until the date shifted to the nineteenth of the third.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Basic facts&#xA;&#xA;- Divine title: Sun Star Lord, named Yuyi[^zhwiki]&#xA;- Other names: Sun Emperor, Lord Sun, God of Great Brightness and others[^zhwiki]&#xA;- Category: deity (Wikidata)[^wikidata]&#xA;- Birthday: most often given as the nineteenth of the third lunar month[^zhwiki]&#xA;- Related on this site: [[work_cn_q70784|Journey to the West]]</body>

<body>Mrs. Liu is a character in Dream of the Red Chamber and a maid of the Rong mansion. Wikidata uses Mrs. Liu as the English label and, in Chinese, only kinship forms such as Liu-shi and Sister-in-law Liu. The cited Chinese Wikipedia likewise gives no personal name, so the titles already on this entry stay unchanged.[^wikidata][^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## In the novel&#xA;&#xA;She works in the inner kitchen and is Liu Wu&#39;er&#39;s mother. She once hoped, through Fangguan, to have Wu&#39;er enrolled at Yihong Court, but Jia Baoyu was ill and the request was never made. A bowl of stewed eggs also put her at odds with the maid Siqi and others. When the rose dew was stolen, she and Wu&#39;er were suspected. Qin Xian&#39;s mother, Siqi&#39;s aunt, took over her post. After the charge was cleared, she went back to managing the inner kitchen.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Basic facts&#xA;&#xA;- Form of address: Mrs. Liu[^wikidata]&#xA;- Description: a character in Dream of the Red Chamber, a maid of the Rong mansion[^wikidata]&#xA;- Occupation recorded on this entry: cook[^wikidata]&#xA;- Appears in: [[work_cn_q8265|Dream of the Red Chamber]]</body>

Wikidata and the cited Chinese Wikipedia both record this title and do not give a separate personal name, so the title stays unchanged.[^wikidata][^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Role&#xA;&#xA;The Chinese Wikipedia counts him among the Four Sages of the North and describes him as their leader, a commander of divine troops who drives off evil, and one of the heads of the thunder ministry. It also treats him as one lodge of the Northern Dipper, later honored as a star god and pictured as a general under the Purple Tenuity Emperor: three heads, six arms, and a broad-axe, set over the Dipper and Fengdu. The same page gives the further titles Tianpeng zhenjun and Grand Marshal Tianpeng, and records him as male.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## The novel character&#xA;&#xA;That article says the title used for Zhu Bajie in the Ming-Qing novel Journey to the West is not the same figure as this marshal of the Four Sages.[^zhwiki] This site also has a page for [[work_cn_q70784|Journey to the West]].&#xA;&#xA;## Basic facts&#xA;&#xA;- Title: Marshal Heavenly Mugwort[^zhwiki]&#xA;- Sex: male[^zhwiki]&#xA;- No separate personal name on the cited Wikidata item[^wikidata]</body>

<body>Huang Jinying is a character in the novel Dream of the Red Chamber. The cited article says her original name was Huang Jinying, and that Xue Baochai found the name awkward and changed it to Ying&#39;er. Wikidata&#39;s main label is Ying&#39;er, and Huang Jinying is an English alias there. The title uses the original name. She is the maid Baochai brought with her. This entry records her as a maidservant, and the story is set in the dynasty of the novel.[^wikidata][^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Chapter 7&#xA;&#xA;She first appears in chapter 7. Mrs. Zhou goes into the inner room and sees Xue Baochai in everyday clothes, her hair only loosely pinned, sitting on the inner side of the kang and leaning on a small kang table, drawing flower patterns with the maid Ying&#39;er. Ying&#39;er is skilled with her hands and has a good eye. She is good at knotting cords and weaving flower baskets. When Xue Baochai looks at the precious jade and reads the words cut on it, Do not lose it, do not forget it, and the immortal life will last, Ying&#39;er at once says that they make a pair with the two sentences on the young lady&#39;s necklet.[^zhwiki]&#xA;&#xA;## Basic facts&#xA;&#xA;- Name: Huang Jinying, later called Ying&#39;er[^zhwiki]&#xA;- Role: maid of Xue Baochai; this entry records her as a maidservant[^wikidata]&#xA;- Setting recorded on this entry: the dynasty of the novel[^wikidata]&#xA;- Appears in: [[work_cn_q8265|Dream of the Red Chamber]][^zhwiki]</body>
