# Ligne U2 (métro de Hambourg)

La ligne U2 est une ligne du métro de Hambourg de 24,5 km comportant 25 stations ; son premier tronçon fut ouvert le 21 octobre 1913 ; elle circule de Niendorf Nord, via le centre-ville, à Mümmelmannsberg.

## Présentation

La ligne U2 mesure 24,5 kilomètres et dessert 25 stations. Elle circule de Niendorf Nord via le Schlump et le centre-ville (Jungfernstieg, Hauptbahnhof Nord) à Mümmelmannsberg. Le premier tronçon entre Schlump et Emilienstraße fut ouvert le 21 octobre 1913 ; la dénomination U2 fut introduite avec le changement d'horaire du 22 mai 1966. À la suite de l'échange de lignes de 2009, la U2 termine depuis lors à Mümmelmannsberg, tandis que la U3 redevint une ligne circulaire.

## Histoire

La U2 entra en service le 21 octobre 1913 sur le tronçon Schlump–Emilienstraße ; en 1914 suivit le prolongement jusqu'au Hellkamp, dont la station fut abandonnée en 1964 et remplacée en 1965 par la Lutterothstraße. Dans les décennies suivantes, la ligne fut prolongée vers l'ouest : en 1966 vers le Hagenbecks Tierpark, en 1985 vers Niendorf Markt et le 9 mars 1991 jusqu'au terminus actuel Niendorf Nord. Avec l'échange de lignes de 2009, les tronçons est des U2 et U3 furent échangés derrière le Berliner Tor ; depuis, la U2 termine à Mümmelmannsberg, où elle circule depuis le 29 septembre 1990 (alors comme U3).
