    "body": "**杰克·施泰因贝格尔**（Jack Steinberger，1921年5月25日—2020年12月12日）出生于巴特基辛根（德国），2020年12月12日在日内瓦（瑞士）去世。\n\n## 生平与职业生涯\n\n施泰因贝格尔原名汉斯·雅各布·施泰因贝格尔，1934年随家人移居美国，在芝加哥大学学习化学后转向物理，1942年获学士学位；二战期间在麻省理工学院辐射实验室从事雷达研究，1948年在芝加哥大学获博士学位，博士论文受费米启发，研究宇宙线 μ 子衰变[^s3]。1950年他任哥伦比亚大学物理学教授，1968年起任欧洲核子研究中心（CERN）物理学家，并曾任大型正负电子对撞机 LEP 的发言人[^s4]。\n\n## 主要成就\n\n1962年，施泰因贝格尔与莱德曼、施瓦茨在布鲁克海文国家实验室用高能加速器制造出第一束人工中微子流，发现其中产生的不是电子而是 μ 子，从而证明存在第二种中微子——μ 中微子[^s3]。这一发现证实轻子具有二重态结构，也使中微子束成为研究弱相互作用的基本工具[^s4]。\n\n## 获奖\n\n1988 年诺贝尔物理学奖由 3 位得主共享，杰克·施泰因贝格尔占其中 1/3 份，官方获奖理由（官方原文）：“for the neutrino beam method and the demonstration of the doublet structure of the leptons through the discovery of the muon neutrino”[^s1]。获奖时所属机构为 CERN，所在地为日内瓦（瑞士）[^s1]。\n\n## 参见\n\n[[work_nobel_prize_1988|1988 年诺贝尔奖]]、[[concept_nobel_prize|诺贝尔奖]]",
