# Linea U2 (metropolitana di Amburgo)

La U2 è una linea della metropolitana di Amburgo lunga 24,5 km con 25 stazioni; il suo primo tratto fu inaugurato il 21 ottobre 1913, circola da Niendorf Nord attraverso il centro fino a Mümmelmannsberg.

## Panoramica

La linea U2 è lunga 24,5 chilometri e serve 25 stazioni. Circola da Niendorf Nord attraverso Schlump e il centro cittadino (Jungfernstieg, Hauptbahnhof Nord) fino a Mümmelmannsberg. Il primo tratto tra Schlump e Emilienstraße fu inaugurato il 21 ottobre 1913; la denominazione U2 fu introdotta con il cambio d'orario del 22 maggio 1966. Con lo scambio di linee del 2009 la U2 termina da allora a Mümmelmannsberg, mentre la U3 tornò a essere la linea circolare.

## Storia

La U2 entrò in esercizio il 21 ottobre 1913 sul tratto Schlump–Emilienstraße; nel 1914 seguì il prolungamento a Hellkamp, la cui stazione fu abbandonata nel 1964 e sostituita nel 1965 dalla Lutterothstraße. Nei decenni successivi la linea fu prolungata verso ovest: nel 1966 a Hagenbecks Tierpark, nel 1985 a Niendorf Markt e il 9 marzo 1991 all'attuale capolinea Niendorf Nord. Con lo scambio di linee del 2009 i tratti orientali di U2 e U3 furono scambiati oltre Berliner Tor; da allora la U2 termina a Mümmelmannsberg, dove circola dal 29 settembre 1990 (allora come U3).
