Pubblica la Guida MICHELIN e le selezioni di ristoranti per le aree coperte[^guide].\n\n## Origini della guida\n\nLa guida fu inizialmente ideata per incoraggiare gli automobilisti a viaggiare. Offriva mappe e informazioni pratiche, come cambiare uno pneumatico e trovare carburante, oltre a elenchi di luoghi dove mangiare e pernottare. Le prime edizioni erano gratuite. Nel 1920 la guida iniziò a essere venduta; furono aggiunti elenchi per categorie di hotel e ristoranti di Parigi e venne eliminata la pubblicità a pagamento[^guide].\n\n## Valutazione dei ristoranti\n\nCon la crescente influenza della sezione dedicata ai ristoranti, la guida iniziò a inviare ispettori anonimi nei locali. Nel 1926 furono assegnate le prime stelle ai ristoranti di alta cucina, inizialmente una sola. Nel 1931 fu introdotta una gerarchia da zero a tre stelle; i criteri vennero pubblicati nel 1936[^guide].\n\nSecondo la pagina ufficiale di presentazione, la guida copre oltre 30 territori in tre continenti, valuta più di 30.000 locali e ha venduto oltre 30 milioni di copie nel mondo[^guide].",
