# 巴里·巴里什

巴里·巴里什是领导建成LIGO的物理学家，2017年诺贝尔物理学奖得主之一。

**巴里·巴里什**（Barry C. Barish，1936年1月27日—）出生于奥马哈（美国）。

## 生平与职业生涯

巴里什在加州大学伯克利分校获博士学位，长期任教于加州理工学院并领导LIGO项目，从事引力波探测研究。[^s3][^s4]

## 主要成就

巴里什领导建成了激光干涉引力波天文台，2015年首次直接探测到双黑洞并合产生的引力波，开启了引力波天文学时代。[^s3][^s4]

## 获奖

2017 年诺贝尔物理学奖由 3 位得主共享，巴里·巴里什占其中 1/4 份，官方获奖理由（官方原文）：“for decisive contributions to the LIGO detector and the observation of gravitational waves”[^s1]。获奖时所属机构为 LIGO/VIRGO Collaboration[^s1]。
