# 卡尔·威曼

卡尔·威曼是实现玻色-爱因斯坦凝聚的物理学家，2001年诺贝尔物理学奖得主之一。

**卡尔·威曼**（Carl E. Wieman，1951年3月26日—）出生于科瓦利斯（美国）。

## 生平与职业生涯

威曼在斯坦福大学获博士学位，长期任教于科罗拉多大学博尔德分校与联合天体物理实验室研究所，从事原子物理与物理教育研究。[^s3][^s4]

## 主要成就

威曼与康奈尔、克特勒共同实现稀薄气体的玻色-爱因斯坦凝聚，首次在实验室获得物质的新状态；晚年他致力于改进大学科学教学。[^s3][^s4]

## 获奖

2001 年诺贝尔物理学奖由 3 位得主共享，卡尔·威曼占其中 1/3 份，官方获奖理由（官方原文）：“for the achievement of Bose-Einstein condensation in dilute gases of alkali atoms, and for early fundamental studies of the properties of the condensates”[^s1]。获奖时所属机构为 University of Colorado, JILA，所在地为博尔德（美国）[^s1]。
