行政区分\n\n1990年に設置されたエアフルト、ゲーラ、ズールの3つの行政管区政府はすでに1994年に廃止され、以来、行政管区は存在しない。州レベルの下に17の郡と5つの郡独立市（エアフルト、ゲーラ、イェーナ、ズール、ヴァイマル）がある。アイゼナハは2021年に郡独立市の地位を失い、ヴァルトブルク郡に属している。\n\n## 主要都市\n\n- エアフルト（人口約21.5万人）\n- イェーナ（人口約11万人）\n- ゲーラ（人口約9.5万人）\n- ヴァイマル（人口約6.5万人）\n\n## 交通\n\nエアフルトはテューリンゲン鉄道の拡充以来、フランクフルト、ライプツィヒ、ベルリンを結ぶ中心的なICE結節点である。A4とA9がヘルムスドルフ・ジャンクション（Hermsdorfer Kreuz）で交差する。より密な鉄道接続がヴァイマルとイェーナも結んでいる。\n\n##
