# Linha U2 (Metro de Munique)

A U2 é a linha mais longa do metro de Munique; foi inaugurada em 1980, tem 24,4 km de extensão, serve 27 estações e circula de Feldmoching, no norte, até Messestadt Ost, no leste.

## Visão geral

A linha de metro U2 percorre 24,4 km entre Feldmoching, no norte de Munique, onde existe ligação à S1 para Freising e para o aeroporto, e Messestadt Ost, no leste; serve 27 estações. Foi colocada em serviço em 18 de outubro de 1980 com a abertura da linha tronco 2 (Hauptbahnhof–Innsbrucker Ring) e inicialmente designada U8. Com 24,4 km é a linha mais longa da rede; a sua cor é o vermelho.

A U2 é a única linha que circula nas três linhas tronco da rede: a norte do Hauptbahnhof partilha o leito com a U3/U6 até Scheidplatz, no troço central circula em conjunto com a U1 (linha tronco 2) e, a leste do Innsbrucker Ring, segue como ramal independente por Trudering até Messestadt. No troço urbano Milbertshofen–Innsbrucker Ring é complementada na hora de ponta pela linha de reforço na hora de ponta U7.

## História

A atual U2 entrou em serviço em 18 de outubro de 1980 como U8 entre Scheidplatz e Neuperlach Süd e usa a designação U2 desde 1988; nenhum outro ramal do metro de Munique passou por tantas alterações de traçado e de nome. Para norte, a linha foi prolongada em 1993 até Dülferstraße e em 26 de outubro de 1996 até Feldmoching. Em 29 de maio de 1999 seguiu-se a abertura do ramal para o recinto de feiras; desde então, a U2 termina em Messestadt Ost e cedeu o troço até Neuperlach Süd à U5.
