# 德里克·巴顿

德里克·巴顿（Derek Barton，1918年9月8日—1998年3月16日）是1969 年诺贝尔化学奖得主之一。

**德里克·巴顿**（Derek H. R. Barton，1918年9月8日—1998年3月16日）出生于格雷夫森德（英国），1998年3月16日在大学城（美国）去世。

## 生平与职业生涯

德里克·巴顿在伦敦帝国理工学院获得学士和博士学位，先后任教于帝国理工、伯贝克学院、格拉斯哥大学，后在法国吉夫-叙尔-伊韦特的天然物质化学研究所工作，是有机化学构象分析的奠基人之一。1986年起，他任得克萨斯农工大学杰出教授，直至1998年去世。[^s3]

## 主要成就

1950年，巴顿发表构象分析的经典论文，指出环己烷等饱和环中取代基的直立键与平伏键位置不同，反应活性和产物分布也随之不同，从而把分子的三维形状与化学反应性系统地联系起来。他还发展了自由基反应与光化学方法，包括巴顿脱羧反应，广泛应用于天然产物合成[^s1]。

## 获奖

1969 年诺贝尔化学奖由 2 位得主共享，德里克·巴顿占其中 1/2 份，官方获奖理由（官方原文）：“for their contributions to the development of the concept of conformation and its application in chemistry”[^s1]。获奖时所属机构为 Imperial College，所在地为伦敦（英国）[^s1]。
