The Swedish Academy (Svenska Akademien) was founded in 1786. Under the statutes of the Nobel Foundation it decides and announces the Nobel Prize in Literature[1]. The prize is usually announced in early October, and NobelPrize.org publishes the laureate’s biography at the same time[2].
