Baozhu is a character in Dream of the Red Chamber. Wikidata and the cited Chinese Wikipedia both use this name and do not record another personal name, so the title stays Baozhu.[1][2]
In the novel
She is Qin Keqing's maid. After Qin Keqing died, no one in the Qin household came forward for the funeral. Baozhu offered to act as an adopted daughter and vowed to see the mourning through. Jia Zhen was pleased and had the decision announced, and people afterwards called her miss. She later stayed with Qin Keqing's coffin at Iron Threshold Temple and refused to return to the Ning mansion. The episodes are in chapters 13 and 15.[2]
