historical figure

Lun Zhi was a subordinate of Gongsun Yuan in the Three Kingdoms period. Wikidata's Chinese label and the Chinese Wikipedia article title are both Lun Zhi, though the article text also writes the name with a variant first character, so the heading stays the same. This entry records his death in 238; his birth year is not known, and the entry places him under Cao Wei.[1][2]

Account

According to the Chinese Wikipedia article, Lun Zhi was a general under Gongsun Yuan, and the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms makes him a staff officer. When Gongsun Yuan was about to rebel against Cao Wei, Lun Zhi agreed with Jia Fan and spoke out plainly, saying Gongsun Yuan should not rebel. Gongsun Yuan did not listen, and had him beheaded together with Jia Fan. The article adds that after Sima Yi entered Xiangping city, he treated Lun Zhi's descendants generously. The article gives little more, and no place of origin, courtesy name or birth year, so nothing further is added here.[2]
