Mrs. Liu is a character in Dream of the Red Chamber and a maid of the Rong mansion. Wikidata uses Mrs. Liu as the English label and, in Chinese, only kinship forms such as Liu-shi and Sister-in-law Liu. The cited Chinese Wikipedia likewise gives no personal name, so the titles already on this entry stay unchanged.[1][2]
In the novel
She works in the inner kitchen and is Liu Wu'er's mother. She once hoped, through Fangguan, to have Wu'er enrolled at Yihong Court, but Jia Baoyu was ill and the request was never made. A bowl of stewed eggs also put her at odds with the maid Siqi and others. When the rose dew was stolen, she and Wu'er were suspected. Qin Xian's mother, Siqi's aunt, took over her post. After the charge was cleared, she went back to managing the inner kitchen.[2]
