Character in The Romance of the Three Kingdoms

Qiu Ben is a fictional character in the chapter-novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Wikidata's Chinese label and the Chinese Wikipedia article title are both Qiu Ben, and Wikidata records him as a fictional character and a general of Cao Wei, set in Great Wei, so the heading stays the same.[1][2]

In the novel

According to the Chinese Wikipedia article, Qiu Ben serves as Deng Ai's army supervisor in Wei's war to destroy Shu Han, and the article notes that in the standard histories the army supervisor was Wei Guan. At Mianzhu, Qiu Ben advises Deng Ai to write to Zhuge Zhan urging him to surrender, and after the letter is refused he advises using a surprise force to win. The article gives chapter 117 of the novel as the source and records no home, dates or other deeds.[2]
