阮籍，字嗣宗，陳留尉氏人也。父瑀，魏丞相掾，知名於世。籍容貌瑰傑，志氣宏放，傲然獨得，任性不羈，而喜怒不形於色。或閉戸視書，累月不出；或登臨山水，經日忘歸。博覽群籍，尤好《莊》《老》。嗜酒能嘯，善彈琴。當其得意，忽忘形骸。時人多謂之癡，惟族兄文業毎嘆服之，以爲勝己，由是咸共稱異。
