Sheyue · Relations

Sheyue is a maid at Jia Baoyu's side in Dream of the Red Chamber, second only to Xiren in the Yihong Court, honest and steady in manner. In chapter 63 she draws the tuMi flower lot, which hints that after the fall of the Jia family she will be the last maid left beside Baoyu and Baochai. After Baoyu becomes a monk only she and Baochai remain to depend on each other, a sad end that moves the commentators.
