Si Xingfang is a character in the classical novel Water Margin. Both Wikidata and the Chinese Wikipedia article are titled Si Xingfang, and the story is set in the Song dynasty, so the heading stays the name as given in the novel.[1][2]
In Fang La's army
The Chinese Wikipedia article says he is a subordinate of Fang Tianding, the crown prince of Fang La, and one of the four marshals of the southern realm, with the title General Who Protects the State. With the state preceptor Deng Yuanjue, called the Treasure Light Tathagata, Shi Bao, called General of the Southern Fire, and Li Tianrun, called General Who Guards the State, he commands twenty-four fighting generals and together they hold the Ninghai army at Hangzhou.[2]
Fighting and end
When Song Jiang wanted to take Hangzhou, Si Xingfang led Xue Dounan, Huang Ai, Xu Bai and Mi Quan to relieve Deqing county, where he killed Lei Heng, the Winged Tiger and one of the Liangshan generals of the Heavenly Spirits, in single combat. He was later beaten by troops under Lu Junyi, Huyan Zhuo and others, and drowned as he chased across a stream.[2]
