Wenguan is a character in Dream of the Red Chamber. Wikidata and the cited Chinese Wikipedia both use this name and do not record another personal name, so the title stays Wenguan.[1][2]
In the novel
She is one of twelve girls who sing and act in the Jia household, and she plays the young-male role. The Chinese Wikipedia says she is treated as their leader, quick with words, a favorite of Lady Jia, and praised by Aunt Xue and others as a clever child. After the troupe was disbanded, Lady Jia kept her for her own service. Later Lady Wang expelled her from the Grand View Garden along with the other actresses. The novel gives her no further story. The episodes are in chapters 27, 54 and 58.[2]
