Yan Gang was a commander at the end of the Eastern Han. Wikidata's simplified Chinese label is Yan Gang, and the English label is Yan Gang, so the title stays the personal name. He served Gongsun Zan and was made inspector of Ji province. This entry dates his death to 192 and records his realm as China.[1][2]
Jieqiao
At the battle of Jieqiao he led a picked cavalry vanguard. Yuan Shao sent Qu Yi forward with eight hundred picked men and, according to the article, a thousand strong crossbows on the two flanks. Gongsun Zan thought the enemy few and ordered a cavalry charge. Qu Yi's men covered themselves with shields and did not move. When the lines were less than a dozen paces apart, the crossbows fired together and Gongsun Zan's army broke. Qu Yi killed Yan Gang, and Qu Yi's men cut down more than a thousand others.[2]
