History
The Wilmersdorf-Dahlem U-Bahn was built by the municipality of Deutsch-Wilmersdorf; the section Wittenbergplatz–Thielplatz went into operation on 12 October 1913, followed by the extension to Krumme Lanke on 22 December 1929. On 1 January 1928 the line passed into the ownership of the city of Berlin. Having operated under various designations (line AII, line 2, U1, U15), the line has borne the designation U3 since the timetable change in December 2004. On 7 May 2018 it was extended along the existing U1 track to Warschauer Straße.
