Overview
Momenta (魔门塔), founded in 2016 by Cao Xudong, follows an "one flywheel, two legs" product strategy: mass-production assisted driving (Mpilot) supplies data and revenue, while the fully autonomous driving product (MSD) feeds advanced technology back into the mass-production product, both sharing the same underlying technology stack. Its businesses cover passenger cars, Robotaxi, Robovan and Robotruck.
Customers and technology
Momenta's mass-production assisted driving solutions are deployed on models from Chinese carmakers including BYD, Chery and SAIC as well as international groups including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Toyota, Honda, GM and Volkswagen, across more than 160 models in total. IM AD 3.0, developed with IM Motors, is a mass-produced end-to-end large model solution. Mercedes-Benz has announced that nine new models launching within the year will carry the driving assistance system co-developed with Momenta. At Level 4, its system has run regular driverless tests in Suzhou and Shanghai and obtained Robotaxi licences.
Robotaxi and capital
Momenta's Robotaxi business works with mobility platforms Uber, Grab, Lumo and Xiangdao Chuxing as well as carmakers such as Mercedes-Benz, and has launched in Asia, Europe and the Middle East, with operations with Uber planned to start in Munich in 2026. Its prospectus shows revenue growing from RMB 743 million in 2023 to RMB 2,413 million in 2025, with cash reserves above RMB 10 billion at the end of 2025; the company passed its Hong Kong Stock Exchange listing hearing in 2026.
